  1. Using 150 to 200 words, please state your reasons for running for office. What compels you to take on this responsibility?

To see that my children and grand children get the same opportunity to enjoy the quality of life I have enjoyed.

  2. What do you consider to be the top three issues currently facing Utah? Please list them in order of priority to you (with #1 the most important) and explain why they are important to you and to Utah.

    (1) Education, (2)Economic Development-(JOBS ,Tax Reform, Healthcare/Transportation- all are a part of Economic Development) & (3) Ethics

  3. What do you plan to do to address your top three issues?

Legislation. I have 3 bill files opened.  Two on tax reform and one on ethics.

  4. What are your most important accomplishments that would make you the most qualified candidate for office?

Along with my wife of 42 years, I have had the good pleasure of seeing our two daughter, son-in-laws and grand children grow up in happy successful families.  I consider that the most important accomplishment in my life.

  5. What skills, talents, and strengths do you have that enhance your ability to be an effective office holder?

I have been a successful businessman in the Salt Lake Area for over 30 years.  I have successfully created and managed my own companies as well as managed other companies, and I have met and expanded payrolls.  As a “Part-Time Legislator” I have to work and live with the laws I pass.  That makes me extremely sensitive to what I do and do not support at the Legislature.  If it is not good for my family or other’s families or for business then I will probably not support it.

  6. Why do you belong to your political party?

Necessary to get your message to your constituents.
